I'd find it hard to believe that Outlook can do anything with SSL on AT&T that Eudora can't.According to, it has SSL but the AT&T page referenced below says it doesn't. Unless they've done something strange recently, that seems kinda odd to me, because Eudora's had SSL abilities in it for quite a long time now. Now, finally, the thing I thought was odd was that you say you have to move from eudora because it doesn't support the SSL that AT&T is doing. I'd find it hard to believe that Outlook can do anything with SSL on AT&T that Eudora can't. Outlook's fine as a calendar tool, but it's email should be grounds to have one's computer priveledges removed (IMHO of course, but I spend far too much time in a day dealing with people having outlook problems). Mozilla was doing everything they could to get rid of it, and I haven't paid enough attention to it's current status (even though I use it). However, I'm not entirely sure how active development is on Thunderbird these days is either.

With some digging through some plugins, you can probably get happy with it, although I still miss some things (I liked drag select in eudora). I used to be a Eudora person, then eventually got annoyed that each release seemed to get bigger but not add anything reasonable, and ended up moving the Thunderbird. Thunderbird has enough similar elements that you can get used to it.
